I don’t know about you, but summer is supposed to be carefree and full of endless fun. And it is, but it’s also filled with driving kids back and forth to camps and summer programs. Packing endless lunches, snacks on-the-go and coolers.
Not to mention those rotating loads of laundry of soggy beach towels. We can feel just as frenzied in summer as we do during the rest of the year. One week turns into the next and it feels like summer can slip away as fast as it came.
Why not slow it down just a bit and really enjoy every bit of what’s left of the season we wait all year for.
1. Make a Summer TO GO WISH LIST
Why not put on paper a real list of places you have been meaning to go and set a real day and time to get there.
2. Watch the Sun Rise or Set
Set the alarm and drag yourself to the beach or your deck to watch the sun rise, or stop what you are doing and focus on watching the sun set
3. Make Time for Down Time
Make yourself stop the daily chores and go for a walk or sit by water. Just take it all in, relax and enjoy your surroundings.
4. Enjoy Your Family
We tend to get caught up in the craziness of chores and running around. Plan some time to just be together as a family. Watch a movie, go to the beach or on a hike. Listen and talk to one another.
5. READ that book
If you are like me, I have “that book” that I have been dragging around in my beach bag, but never seem to start. Make the time to open it and actually start reading it!
